Dear Prospective Adoptive Parent:
Thank you for considering our law firm to handle
your adoption needs. We have extensive experience in
private/independent adoptions. It is our belief that
there is a family for every child.
With this philosophy in mind, Hausmann & Hickman,
P.A., emphasizes open and honest communication
throughout the adoption process. Our staff of female
professionals is uniquely qualified to place
children with adoptive families. The attorneys,
staff, and birth parent counselors are available at
all times during the adoption process. Our toll-free
number assures a birth parent access to an attorney
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

List of Commonly Asked Questions [[PAP]] and Answers,
Adoption Disclosure and Adoption Disclosure with
Receipt of Disclosure. We provide all of our
clients with a personal consultation to discuss
private adoption. Please complete the enclosed
application, sign the Adoption Disclosure with
Receipt of Disclosure and return it with the
following:
1. Check in the amount $300.00 (non-refundable) for
handling, evaluation and consultation.
2. Recent photograph(s) and/or adoption portfolio if
available.
3. Copy of your marriage certificate.
4. Copy of divorce decree from prior marriages, if
applicable.
Upon receipt of your application, a legal assistant
will call to reserve a one-hour consultation
appointment. Following your consultation, if you
choose to apply for adoption through our office, a
$500.00 application fee must be submitted with a
minimum of 5 copies of your family profile. If you
choose not to submit your application or, if for any
reason, we feel that we would be unable to make an
adoptive placement in your home, we will not accept
an application fee and your file will be closed.
Please understand that the submission of the
application and other items listed herein does not
guarantee that we will place a child with you. These
steps, however, will immediately entitle you to be
considered for placement.
